The NHTRC is Victim-Centered: The NHTRC works with every caller to determine the best course of action on a case-by-case basis according to each caller’s needs.
Hours of Operation The National Human Trafficking Resource Center is available to answer all types of calls from anywhere in the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.
- Calls requiring urgent action are processed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Non-urgent requests, such as requests for information, materials, or resources, are processed primarily between the hours of 9 am and 7 pm EST, Monday through Friday. If a non-urgent request comes in between afterhours, on the weekend, or on a holiday, a message will be taken by the Call Specialist on duty, and full-time program staff will respond to the request within two business days, allowing for holidays.
Confidentiality Policy: - The National Human Trafficking Resource Center strives to abide by the highest ethical standards of respect and confidentiality.
- Calls received by the NHTRC are always anonymous unless the caller chooses to provide the NHTRC with his or her name and contact information and authorizes its release. This information is not given to law enforcement, outside agencies, or other individuals without consent. However, in limited circumstances, we may be required to inform certain authorities if we suspect child abuse, have reason to believe a caller may harm him or herself or others, or if we are required by law to do so.
